Dear MHEC energy benchmark survey recipient:
A few weeks ago MHEC sent you an energy benchmarking survey http://appa.org/research/fpi/mhecsurvey.cfm and respectfully requested that your institution complete the survey and assist MHEC in identifying areas where energy group cost savings programs can be developed for the benefit of higher education. The energy benchmarking survey is being conducted in cooperation with APPA, an association of higher education facilities officers, and is part of APPA’s overall Facilities Performance Indicators (FPI) survey.
The information provided in the survey will be used to provide MHEC's Energy Advisory Committee with better data for use in the identification and development of energy cost savings programs. Those institutions completing the survey will be provided access to reports showing how their campuses compare with peers in energy usage and will also be updated on MHEC's development of energy cost savings programs. The energy benchmarking survey can be found on APPA's MHEC web page at: http://appa.org/research/fpi/mhecsurvey.cfm under the heading "Accessing the 2008-09 APPA/MHEC Survey." It will remain open until December 7.
MHEC encourages campuses to not only complete the energy portion of the survey, but also to complete the full FPI survey.
Answering these and many other such questions will help make the business case for campus facility needs. The FPI survey is a portfolio of the key facilities measures that address the essential questions every facilities professional must be able to answer in order to effectively perform their roles. The resulting Facilities Performance Indicators reports are web-based and include numerous charts, dashboard gauges, a peer review feature, and a searchable database. The report is utilized by many participating institutions as a robust benchmarking and cohort comparison tool.
A webinar will introduce the FPI survey and report tool to institutions, making the case as to why institutions should participate in the FPI survey. Institutions will be provided with an orientation to the full FPI report, including many additional features and resources beyond the Dashboards. The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, from 9:00-10:30 CT (10:00-11:30 ET). To register for the survey, please go here: https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/171228666. For more information about the MHEC energy benchmarking survey, the activities of the MHEC Energy Advisory Committee in developing group energy cost savings programs, the FPI survey or the October 27th webinar, please contact Rob Trembath at 612-624-1812.
