Qualifying criteria for new freshmen:

*Must be a declared major in a qualifying programs (list of participating programs below)

*Achieved an 23 ACT composite score or higher OR an SAT I score of 1070 or higher

*Rank in the top 25% of high school graduating class and/or have an unweighted cumulative hs GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Applicants whose academic profiles come close to but do not fully meet these criteria may be admitted on a space available basis. Conversely, if more potentially qualified MSEP applicants than space available apply, other factors may be taken into consideration.

Qualifying criteria for transfer students:

*Must meet all admission requirements for their desired academic program

*Must have earned a minimum of 24 transferable credits with a grade point average of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale).

These are, however, guidelines rather than absolute requirements. Transfer applicants whose profiles come close to but do not fully meet the specified criteria may still be admitted on a space available basis.

Conversely, if we have more potentially qualified MSEP applicants than space available, we may also take other factors into consideration.

Once admitted to the program, in order to continue to be eligible for the MSEP rate, the student must

*Maintain residency in a participating MSEP state

*Remain enrolled in a participating academic program

*Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

*Complete his/her degree in no more than five years

Note: If a student's major has changed to a NON-participating program, s/he will no longer be eligible to participate in the MSEP program.
