The award recognized Clayton for providing exemplary leadership, committing to the Compact’s principles, securing participation in the Compact’s programs and services, and increasing visibility for the organization.

Clayton was nominated by fellow colleagues for his contribution to MHEC’s property insurance program – the Master Property Program (MPP).

“Greg has done an outstanding job of handling the dual responsibility of representing not only the University of Nebraska System but the interests of all of the institutional participants of our nationwide property insurance program,” said Larry Isaak, MHEC president.

Greg initially became involved with MHEC’s Risk Management Committee beginning in 1997. He went on to serve on the MPP Leadership Committee, serving as chair (2003-05), serving as chair of the MPP Underwriting and Marketing Subcommittee (2007-13), and participating in the Finance and Audit Subcommittee (2013-present); and the Loss Control Workshop Planning Subcommittee (2004-05).

"I am really honored by the award,” said Clayton. “It has been such a great experience working with so many institutions on this collaborative program that has saved institutions over $114 million since 1994. I have enjoyed working with the MHEC staff and my peers on the committee,” he added.
