Student Exchange Program Sees Growth in Indiana

In the past two years there has been noticeable growth of Indiana institutional participation in the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP). This MHEC program offers institutions the opportunity to attract out-of-state talent, and was one of MHEC's first programs in its 25-year history.

Illinois and Michigan acknowledged as M-SARA states during the annual commission meeting

On Monday, November 16, the Midwestern Higher Education Compact acknowledged Illinois and Michigan as official Midwestern-State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (M-SARA) member states during the organization’s annual commission meeting. The Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs serve as the M-SARA portal agencies.

Michigan is tenth state approved for participation in Midwestern-State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement

Minneapolis, MN — Michigan was approved by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) as the tenth state to join the Midwestern State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (M-SARA) by MHEC’s Executive Committee. Michigan joins Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Ohio. Nationally, Michigan is the 29th state to join the agreement.

Illinois is ninth state approved for participation in Midwestern-State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement

Minneapolis, MN — Late this afternoon Illinois was approved by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) as the ninth state to join the Midwestern State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (M-SARA). Illinois joins Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Ohio. Nationally, Illinois is the 28th state to join the agreement.

Iowa is eighth state approved for participation in Midwestern-State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement


Chicago, IL — On Monday, Iowa was approved by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) as the eighth state to join the Midwestern State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (M-SARA) during the biannual business meeting of MHEC’s Executive Committee. Iowa joins Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Ohio. Nationally, Iowa is the 24th state to join the agreement.

Ohio is seventh state approved for participation in State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement

Minneapolis, MN — Ohio has been approved by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) as the seventh state to join the Midwestern State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (M-SARA). Ohio joins Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Nationally, Ohio is the 20th state to join the agreement.
