MHEC Selects Consolidated Health Plans (CHP) as an Additional Student Health Insurance Provider

MINNEAPOLIS, MN  – The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) announced today its agreement with Consolidated Health Plans, who through MHEC’s student health collaborative MHECare, will provide expanded student health insurance options for institutions nationally.  MHECare helps institutions support the student learning experience by providing protection from unexpected medical expenses.

College students in 12 Midwestern states will now have expanded access to affordable healthcare

 
ROSEMONT, Ill. and Minneapolis, Minn. – The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) announced today its agreement with provider IXSolutions (IXS) for a private health insurance exchange offering direct access to affordable health insurance options to students at higher education institutions in 12 Midwestern states.

The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) through its Student Health Benefits Advisory Committee in conjunction with its Program Administrator Mercer Health & Benefits requests proposals for 1) fully insured student health insurance coverage from a secondary carrier for the 2015-16 plan year; 2) stand-alone student advocacy and student assistance services for Eligible Institutions effective with the 2015-16 academic year; and 3) assistance services for students regarding information on health plans available on the Public Exchanges for those campuses not offering university-sponsor
