About this Indicator
This student retention measure is defined by first-time, full-time students who are enrolled at an institution for two consecutive fall terms. The calculations do not account for students who begin their studies at one institution and complete them at another. The indicator should be interpreted while bearing in mind the multiple factors that influence retention and graduation rates, particularly the pre-college academic preparedness of students.
