Breanne Hegg
Vice President of Programs, Contracts, and Communications
Breanne Hegg is the vice president of programs, contracts, and communications at the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). She leads MHEC’s technology, student health, and captive insurance contracts programs, driving cost savings and business solutions for higher education across the Midwest. She also direct MHEC’s communication strategy and strategic planning function, helping MHEC realize its mission of bringing together leaders from Midwestern states to develop and support best practices, collaborative efforts, and cost-sharing opportunities.
Breanne brings professional experience in strategic leadership, program development, and communications across a number of industries. She worked for eleven years in higher education, culminating as associate vice president of marketing for Hamline University, where she helped develop new programs and grow enrollment. As chief experience officer at Girl Scouts River Valleys, she provided strategic leadership on risk management, communications, and program development, growing revenue and launching new programs. She also led communications and program development as marketing and media director at Twin Cities In Motion.
Breanne earned her master’s degree in nonprofit management with a certificate in human resources management from Hamline University, and her bachelor’s degree in English and Asian studies from St. Olaf College. She is also a certified strategic planning professional. Breanne joined MHEC in January 2024.
