Ken Ries is responsible for helping set the strategic direction for the Midwestern Higher Education Compact’s information technology initiatives, working with constituents to apply technology to solve problems within higher education, and managing the local technology infrastructure used by the Compact. Ken brings more than eighteen years of higher education leadership experience to the organization. He previously served as chief information officer for Pine Technical and Community College and served as both a chancellor’s fellow and the special assistant to the system CIO within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. Ken has been engaged in the Compact’s technology programs since 2009 as a participant on the Technologies Committee.
Ken holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and a bachelor’s degree in Career and Technical Education from the University of Minnesota. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and holds several industry recognized certifications.
Ken began working for the Compact in March 2016.
