Mary Roberson
Mary Roberson serves as the compact’s senior director of communications & marketing. In that capacity, she is the point of contact for MHEC's media relations, manager of the compact's websites, social media, MHEC publications, and production of the Compact’s electronic communications.
She is responsible for the communications and management of logistics for MHEC's annual commission meeting, policy forum, and programs including recruitment of sponsorship and speakers, and developing agendas.
Mary is a member of the Minnesota chapter of International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and a member of the Minnesota chapter of the American Marketing Association.
Mary received her B.A. in communications/public relations from the University of Northern Iowa and a Mini-Master’s of Business Communication with the University of St. Thomas. Prior to joining MHEC she worked for UNI's Center for Urban Education (UNI-CUE) as their public relations coordinator; the Iowa Democratic Party to promote voter registration in Black Hawk County; and for Kinko’s (now Fed Ex Office) where she developed extensive management experience in printing and production. Mary has also completed a risk management professional development institute course with Marsh USA Inc.
Mary is a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter ES, Eagan. P.E.O. is a philanthropic educational organization that supports women in education. She currently serves as vice president of her chapter. Mary also volunteers as an election judge.
Mary began working for the Compact in February 1998.
