The Midwestern Higher Education Compact hosts a moderated discussion about the impact of COVID on information technology (IT) and the higher education institution. Two Midwestern chief information officers (CIOs), offer their perspectives on IT issues that impacted them at the onset of the pandemic, their adaption to change, and the role of IT in higher education as they persevere forward in fall planning from on-premise instruction to online delivery. A national perspective is provided from EDUCAUSE, focusing on the work of the CIO being essential now more than ever. In addition EDUCAUSE emphasizes how technology is the critical strategic asset that determines institutional success.
